Love Prevails Over Covid-19

Classic 2-tiered wedding cake

What's this all about, you ask? Covid-19 has had us all pretty much grounded since March, right? But my daughter was supposed to get married May 2nd. Because of Covid, we rescheduled for June 27th. It eventually became clear that date was still too soon to host a 120-guest wedding, so we changed the venue and replanned it, scaling it down to a 14-guest wedding. We called it Plan 2B.

Since we live in beautiful SW Florida, we rented a fantastic 5-bedroom home on Captiva Island, appropriately named Hakuna Matata (can you read the "Welcome to Hakuna Matata" sign at the front door in the picture above?) We had "no worries" for a long weekend of fun in the sun. Immediate families only.

The wedding had all the elements of any wedding: intimate wedding ceremony on the deck of the house--full wedding gown, catered dinner by Leslie Adams Catering of Sanibel Island and this classic wedding cake from Jerry's Foods on Sanibel Island. Then we danced all night in the living room.

Take that Covid-19!
